What is the Ketosis
Ketosis is a metabolic state that occurs when the body's fat stores are depleted. When the body doesn't have enough glucose, it turns to stored fat for energy. This causes a buildup of acids in the body known as ketones.
Glucose is the principal source of energy for the body's cells in normal circumstances. Glucose is usually obtained from carbohydrates in the diet, such as sweets and starchy meals.
These are broken down into simple sugars by the body. After then, it either consumes glucose as fuel or stores it as glycogen in the liver and muscles.
If there isn't enough glucose to meet energy demands, the body will use a different technique to meet those demands. It starts breaking down fat storage and using glucose from triglycerides.
This technique produces ketones as a byproduct. These are acids that accumulate in the bloodstream and are excreted in the urine. They signal that the body is breaking down fat in modest amounts. High quantities of ketones, on the other hand, can poison the body, resulting in ketoacidosis.
The metabolic state of ketosis occurs when the body turns fat storage into energy while also producing ketones.
